INTUMESCENT PAINT

INTUMESCENT PAINT

Intumescent fire-resistant coatings are advanced paint-like materials applied to structural steel to protect it from heat and fire exposure. When subjected to high temperatures, the coating expands and forms a thick insulating layer that prevents the steel from reaching critical temperatures.

Available in various forms—such as paint, mastic, or foam composites—these coatings typically range from 0.03 to 0.50 inches in thickness. Designed to preserve the structural strength of steel during a fire, intumescent coatings can provide up to 120 minutes of reliable fire protection, making them ideal for modern commercial and industrial buildings.

NAFFCO Intumescent Fire-Resistant Coatings

NAFFCO offers high-performance intumescent coatings for structural steel fire protection:

  • PSV-ISW-180: Water-based coating for interior steel, fire rating R15–R180, non-VOC and eco-friendly.

  • PSV-ISS-120: Solvent-based coating suitable for interior and exterior steel, fire rating R30–R120, durable and long-lasting.

Both are BS 476 tested and Certifire approved, providing reliable fire resistance for commercial and industrial structures.
